We cordially invite you to the opening of the exhibition Structure of Memories: Prewar Warsaw in Watercolor by Agnieszka Leszczynska.
Deadline: 19.05.2026 at. 19.00
Place: WUOZ Pharmacy in Warsaw, 18 Nowy Świat St.
The exhibition presents a series of watercolors that are an artistic synthesis of the author’s research on the pre-war infrastructure of Warsaw. It is a personal, painterly walk through the former heart of the city, where historic architecture emerges from misty grays and warm patches of ochre. Photographic precision is interspersed with loose brushstrokes and deliberate understatements, making the former tenements almost a dreamy memory.
Dr. Agnieszka Leszczyńska is a graduate of Civil Engineering at the Warsaw University of Technology and holds a doctorate in architecture and urban planning. Her doctoral thesis, defended at the Faculty of Architecture, was devoted to the infrastructure of pre-war Warsaw, which is still strongly reflected in her work today – the city, its structure and history are the main axes of her artistic interests. As an academic teacher, she teaches drawing and painting at the Academy of Applied Sciences in Warsaw. She is a member of the Association of Polish Watercolorists (SAP). She creates mainly in watercolor, a technique that inspires her in itself and helps to tell the mood, the transience of the moment.
The exhibition is also open to the public as part of the Night of Museums (16.05.2026, from 18.00-23.00).
