The National Chamber of Architects, the Masovian Regional Chamber of Architects, and the Warsaw Branch of SARP invite you to a series of events accompanying the Congress of Polish Architecture in Warsaw.
- On Saturday, 9 May, at 6:00 p.m., the Archimajówka event will take place at the SARP Palace, 2 Foksal Street. The debate “Can Architecture Still Be Beautiful?” will feature Marcin Szczelina as moderator, with Magdalena Kozień-Woźniak, Bolesław Stelmach, Tomasz Konior, and Przemo Łukasik as speakers. After the debate, there will be time for relaxation and community conversations accompanied by music. Registration is required.
- On Sunday, 10 May, at 4:00 p.m., the Museum of Modern Art will host the debate “Between Conscience and Contract: Who Does Architecture Serve?”. The discussion will feature distinguished architects: Paweł Detko from ArDJ as moderator, together with Jerzy Szczepanik-Dzikowski from JEMS, Dorota Sibińska from xystudio, and Piotr Szaroszyk from Szaroszyk & Rycerski.
- On Monday, 11 May, at 6:00 p.m., the SARP Palace at 2 Foksal Street will host the opening of Stefania Michałowska’s ceramic painting exhibition “Under the Pressure of Greenery, the White Wall Will Collapse.” At 6:00 p.m., the artist will give a lecture entitled “Mosaic as a Carrier of Warsaw’s Architectural Memory.” The exhibition will be open daily until 17 May, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
- On Tuesday, 12 May, at 4:00 p.m., a lecture and discussion entitled “Presentation of the Warsaw Green Building Standard — a Tool of Warsaw’s Urban Climate and Architectural Policy” will take place at the Faculty of Architecture of the Warsaw University of Technology, at the corner of Koszykowa and Lwowska Streets.
- On Tuesday, 12 May, at 6:00 p.m., at the SARP Palace, 2 Foksal Street, the audience will experience a live radio play, “And We Devoured Your Hearts Long Ago.” Its protagonists are Helena and Szymon Syrkus, the famous architect couple, played by Ernestyna Winnicka and Włodzimierz Press. Please arrive on time.
- On Wednesday, 13 May, at 5:30 p.m., a special film screening will begin at Elektronik Cinema, 7 Gen. Zajączka Street. Two films will be shown: “Another City” and “Architecture Must Burn.” After the screening, a discussion will be held on architects’ moral responsibility towards society. The discussion will be moderated by Filip Springer, with the participation of distinguished architects Michał Tatjewski from 22architekci and Dorota Sibińska from xystudio, as well as philosopher Janusz Pyda.
- On Thursday, 14 May, at 10:00 p.m., the Women’s Night Walk will begin. The event refers to the idea of Everyday Life Research Walks organised by Architektoniczki, as well as international initiatives such as Take Back the Night and Women Walk at Midnight. - On 14 and 15 May, the Congress of Polish Architecture will take place at the Polish History Museum. The list of participants is already closed, but registration for the waiting list is still available: www.kongresarchitekturypolskiej.pl
- On 16 May, at 12:00 p.m., we invite you to a special walk around Płock. The guide will be Tomasz Kordala from the Masovian Museum in Płock. The meeting point is in front of the entrance to the Płock Town Hall, 1 Stary Rynek.
