We are one of the best non-public technology and arts universities in Poland
Since 1995, we have been educating students in full-time and part-time programmes — at bachelor’s, engineering and master’s level. We also offer a wide range of postgraduate programmes and MBA studies.
Today, we employ more than 300 specialists from various fields — practitioner lecturers with business experience. Education is delivered across three faculties: the Faculty of Architecture, the Faculty of Engineering and Management in Warsaw, and the Faculty of the Wrocław Academy of Business at the UTA Branch in Wrocław.
All degree programmes offered by UTA and accredited by the Polish Accreditation Committee have received positive evaluations.
2025 – a new structure of the University. The Wrocław Academy of Business in Applied Sciences was incorporated into the University of Technology and Arts in Applied Sciences in Warsaw. Today, it operates as the UTA Branch in Wrocław, where the Faculty of the Wrocław Academy of Business has been established. This marks an important stage of development, making fuller use of the experience and resources of both academic centres and opening up a wide range of opportunities for students, staff and business partners.
From the University of Ecology and Management to the University of Technology and Arts
More than three decades of development: from its foundation in Warsaw in 1995, through the rebranding as the University of Technology and Arts, to the establishment of the Wrocław branch in 2025.

The beginning of operations in Warsaw — offering bachelor’s, engineering and master’s degree programmes, as well as postgraduate studies.

The change of name from WSEiZ to UTA emphasises the interdisciplinary nature of education - combining technology, art and business.
Incorporation of the Wrocław Branch
The incorporation of the Wrocław Academy of Business creates the UTA Branch in Wrocław, where the Faculty of the Wrocław Academy of Business is established.

The bear in the logo of the University of Technology and Arts in Applied Sciences in Warsaw did not appear by chance. Our students often say that they study ‘at the Bear University’. This is an obvious reference to Prof. Jan Misiak, DSc, PhD, Eng., who in 1995 submitted the application to establish WSEiZ, now UTA, and served for many years as Rector of the University. This is clear proof of the great respect and reputation enjoyed by the University’s founder, who is strongly identified with UTA. At the same time, it laid the foundation for the presence of the Bear in our logo.
Why can you rely on the Bear? It is not only a symbol of strength and courage, but also of tolerance and the ability to adapt to any conditions. It is also an animal with a unique personality, which is why it fits so perfectly with a University with Character such as UTA.
Besides, no one knows better than a bear how much a sufficiently long, healthy sleep means in life 🙂

Education closely linked to the labour market
Close cooperation with employers and representatives of the socio-economic environment is one of the key elements in the development of our University and in building high-quality education.
This cooperation is comprehensive in nature and includes teaching, organisational and project-based activities, ensuring a close link between the education process and the current requirements of the labour market. It is carried out through formal agreements with partners, as well as informal, direct contacts between the authorities of UTA Faculties, University representatives and employers.
In addition, representatives of external institutions participate in the teaching process by, among other things, organising study visits, supporting students in the development of prototypes and co-organising student internships.
The University’s teaching staff consists largely of practitioners who bring up-to-date market knowledge, professional experience and an understanding of the realities of the creative sector into the teaching process.
The work of the Academic Competence Centre, as well as joint projects and industry events such as job fairs, workshops and study visits, also contribute to strengthening cooperation with the external environment.
Faculty Employer Councils play an important role in this system, serving as the main platform for dialogue between degree programmes and representatives of the labour market. Their influence is visible in the study programme, its organisation and the learning outcomes.

From the Wrocław School of Banking to the University of Technology and Arts
The history of our University is a story of consistent development, adapting the educational offer to the changing needs of the labour market, and building a modern academic environment.
Wrocław School of Business
The University began its activity as Wrocław School of Business, focusing on educating specialists in the fields of business, management and economics. From the very beginning, it emphasised the practical dimension of education and close cooperation with the economic environment.
Over the following years, WSB developed its educational offer and built a strong position among non-public universities in Lower Silesia. In 2010, it launched its first MBA programme in cooperation with HHL — Leipzig Graduate School of Management, consistently expanding its MBA offer as well as specialised postgraduate programmes focused on upskilling, reskilling and career change.
Wrocław Academy of Business in Applied Sciences
After meeting the requirements of the Law on Higher Education and Science, the University obtained the status of an Academy of Applied Sciences — confirming the high quality of its education, stable development and institutional maturity.
The new name — Wrocław Academy of Business (WAB) — better reflected the modern character of the University and its expanded offer, including first-cycle and second-cycle degree programmes, postgraduate studies and MBA programmes.
Merger with the University of Technology and Arts
Another important stage was the incorporation of the Wrocław Academy of Business into the structures of the University of Technology and Arts in Applied Sciences in Warsaw. The process was completed on 16 July 2025, creating a new space for cooperation between business, technology and arts communities.
WAB retained its recognisable brand, educational profile and existing experience, functioning as a faculty of UTA. Students gained access to a broader educational offer, new development paths and greater opportunities for academic and international cooperation — while maintaining the practical, business-oriented profile of education.
The partner in the merger is the University of Technology and Arts, which originates from a university operating in Warsaw since 1995. In 2024, it underwent its own rebranding, changing its name from the University of Ecology and Management to the University of Technology and Arts in Applied Sciences — emphasising the interdisciplinary nature of education, combining technical, business and artistic disciplines.

The main administrative seat of the University. The building has a rich history: in the interwar period, it housed the “Miot” factory, which produced railings, safes and metal structures, and after 1945, a military printing house. Following redevelopment and extension works carried out by Archimed Sp. z o.o., the University’s administration moved there in November 2013.

An extensive teaching complex with full lecture, laboratory and design facilities. The building formerly housed a type foundry; in 2015, a commemorative plaque was unveiled to honour people connected with its history during the Second World War.

A plot of approximately 3.5 hectares with a group of buildings with a total area of 720 m²: a two-storey building of 380 m², a garden pavilion of 110 m² and a research and teaching pavilion of 230 m². It houses the UTA Field Station for Nature and Landscape Protection, supporting classes in landscape architecture, interior architecture, civil engineering and environmental protection. The site is also used for student integration events.
