Over the past dozen or so years, we have visited Tanzania and Kenya many times. We have also travelled to Rwanda and Uganda, and reached the neighbouring province of North Kivu in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In the volcanic Virunga range, we visited three of the four reserves that are home to mountain gorillas, a species listed in the Red List of endangered species.

We invite you to a photo presentation from our journeys through East Africa.

During the presentation, we will focus on our encounters with birds and gorillas. We have travelled several thousand kilometres. We usually travel as a couple, sometimes with our children or friends. We organise every journey, including transport and accommodation, ourselves, without intermediaries, working with local operators. We visit both famous reserves and lesser-known local nature conservation initiatives. We often wander through the bush or along the coast near inhabited areas — always in places less frequently visited by tourists.

Professionally, we are both designers connected with the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. For over a dozen years, Małgorzata has been running the Dłużew Outdoor Art Centre, while Wojciech is a lecturer at the Faculty of Design.
