Quality of education at UTA

We focus on modern, effective learning methods combined with a professional staff of acclaimed scholars and a space that encourages meetings and the acquiring knowledge. The quality of education at UTA is confirmed by the positive institutional assessment of the Polish Accreditation Committee for the Faculty of Architecture. It is a proof of the high quality of education at all fields of study conducted by the Faculty.

We are the first non-public university in Poland to receive a positive institutional evaluation. But that’s not all. We also received a distinction in the ranking “Top 10 for the Future of the Faculties of Architecture and the Faculties of Construction” of the Builder magazine. UTA was awarded as the only non-public university!

At the University of Technology and Arts in Applied Sciences in Warsaw, students can obtain both engineer/bachelor and master’s degrees at 6 fields of study.

Didactic staff

UTA has over 300 academic teachers with professional experience in their field. Among them the following specialists and acclaimed didactics are worth mentioning: associate professor Wojciech Małolepszy, PhD with habilitation, who is the President of the Association of Industrial Form Designers; Prof. Andrzej Bissenik, PhD with habilitation, who in 2017 was awarded the Gold Medal “Gloria Artis” by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage or Maciej Konopka PhD, creator of projects and distinguished advertising campaigns for well-known brands (Gillette, Coca-Cola, Casio, OralB or Timex) and Grzegorz Strzelewicz, MSc, author of many designs of electronic devices for general use.

Competences development

The diversity of UTA’s educational offer is not only dozen fields of study but also the cooperation with our business partners in the framework of Employers Council that comes with it. Thanks to that we can offer our students versatile development and the opportunity for gaining knowledge and skills in the chosen field, which will contribute to their later success on the labour market.

Our students have the opportunity to take part in students exchange programs for studies or vocational training in EU, EFTA or countries which candidate for EU.

Furthermore we signed an agreement of cooperation with Herzing University in the USA. That means that graduates of first cycled studies of Management at UTA may obtain alongside the polish diploma, the American Bachelor of Science in Business Management diploma issued by Herzing University!

Professional achivements of UTA’s graduates

Achivements

The education obtained at University of Technology and Arts in Applied Sciences in Warsaw allows to begin a valuable professional career. The prove of that are our graduates, among them it is worth to mention:

  • Patryk Góźdź: he is only Polish participant who got to the Finales of Young Talents Exhibition at the Design Fairs in Milan. Co-founder and Art Director at NEED studio.
  • Karolina Karwowska-Gajżewska: she graduated from Interior Design at UEM (now UTA), she’s a founder of Deer Design, is on the prestigious list “30 under 30” by Polish Forbes!
  • Agata Umińska – a graduate of Architecture, has designed spaces for brands such as LPP, H&M, Empik and Hugo Boss. Currently thriving in her career at New York-based Kenneth Park Architects.
  • Iwona Durka – a graduate of Interior Design – passionately transforms apartments and houses, giving them a unique character. In her program “Ingenious Projects”, aired on HGTV, she prepares two design proposals for the characters to choose from. For Iwona Durka, designing is about making people happy.
  • Gabriela Żarnowska: she got honorable mention for her project of Town Library and “Port Praski” in the category “Architectural Design” at the contest organized by the consortium Belt and Road Architectural University International Consortium (BRAUIC) ran by Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture and Junia (Graduate School of Engineering).

  • Marcin Skubisz: he runs project group Mariusz Skubisz Group. He practices design, artistic carpentry, historical furniture renovation. He carries out orders for unique varnishing and stylistic changes of cars, motorcycles and other utility forms.
  • Iwona Dłutek-Radecka and Mariusz Glezner: they cofounded a workshop “Wooow project!” which specializes in design furniture made from organic panels and bamboo woods in association with Kopp company. The workshop is also carrying out design and interior design projects.
  • Konrad Brynda and Paulina Dyłka – they cofounded a design company KP Produkcja Archi-Tektury, which design furniture, interiors, industrial designs, and also carryout complete turn-key finishing of the properties.
  • Magda Tenbaum – a graduate of Architecture was awarded for her thesis entitled The influence of architecture on the development of an individual on the example of an elementary school with an artistic profile on Świderska street in Warsaw, in the competition of the President of Warsaw.

Our students and employees have at their disposal a modern e-learning platform and an educational cloud. They also have access to professional software, which graduates will use in their professional lives. We want our ICT infrastructure to enable effective learning as well as efficient transfer of knowledge.

Since 2015 we organize classes in our own facilities. Students and employees of UTA have to their disposal the headquarters of the University on 12 Olszewska street, as well as buildings located on 16 Rejtana street, 128 Grójecka street and Nature and Landscape Protection Station UTA in Laski, located on 33 Klaudyńska street.

Accreditation

Positive assessment of Polish Accreditation Committee regarding the quality of education on the Architecture and Civil Engineering fields of study. Committee has evaluated with distinction the cooperation with the socioeconomic environment of these fields of study. In the assessment were also mentioned such elements as:

  • the convergence of curricula of all fields and levels of studies are consistent with the graduate profile declared in the Faculty strategy;
  • mechanisms enhancing the quality of education on the basis of quality development of the teaching staff and development of infrastructure and cooperation with external stakeholders;
  • high quality of education, versatility of educational offer, innovative forms and methods of teaching, adequate infrastructure, maintaining high qualifications of the faculty staff;
  • A well-developed quality assurance system;
  • positive feedback from students about classrooms, workshops and labs.
