From 02-06 September 2024, Ms. Sabina Jafarova – Specialist at International Cooperation Department, participated in the Staff Mobility for Training at the Fluminense Federal University in Brazil. Below there is a short description of her stay in Niterói:
“During this mobility, I had a range of enriching experiences. We began the week with a presentation about the university, followed by an insightful tour of the campuses. I also had a productive meeting with the Incoming Mobility Team, where I gained valuable knowledge about their system and services, and we exchanged good practices. This gave me a deeper understanding of the importance of international collaboration in higher education.
We also organized a meeting with the PEC-G coordinator and students, where we discussed the essential role of this program in promoting educational opportunities and its impact on society and the country. Hearing feedback from the students further emphasized the significance of higher education in fostering personal and societal growth.
A particularly enjoyable part of the week was attending a Portuguese lesson with international students from France, Canada, and other countries. I appreciated the opportunity to learn basic Portuguese words and structures, and the discussions we had about Brazil were both interesting and insightful.
Finally, I would like to mention that I had the chance to explore some wonderful places in Brazil over the weekend, which I thoroughly enjoyed. This experience has been highly valuable, both professionally and personally.”
