From July 1 to 5, 2024, the University of Ecology and Management in Warsaw organised the International Erasmus+ Staff Week in the framework of the Erasmus+ Programme.
The event was attended by fourteen staff members from partner universities in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Brazil, the Dominican Republic, Georgia, Kosovo, and Ukraine:
- Sarkis Abedi – lecturer from the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia, Armenia
- Shamo Salayev – head of Innovation Center from Azerbaijan Technological University, Azerbaijan
- Vitor Ierusalimschy – special projects manager in the International Cooperation Office from Universidade Federal Fluminense, Brazil
- Cristal Cespedes – special projects manager in the Institutional Mobility Department from Instituto Tecnologico de Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic
- Shiny Abbott – internationalisation consultant and visual designer in the Institutional Mobility Department from Instituto Tecnologico de Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic
- Guranda Gogsadze – coordinator in the International Relations Department from Caucasus University, Georgia
- Xhemajl Uksmajli – head of the Public Communication Division from University of Applied Science in Ferizaj, Kosovo
- Lavdim Bajrami – head of the Budget and Finance Division from University of Applied Science in Ferizaj, Kosovo
- Armend Hysa – general Secretary and head of Administration from University of Applied Science in Ferizaj, Kosovo
- Marharyta Buhera – Erasmus+ Program Coordinator from National Aviation University, Ukraine
- Iryna Zarubinska – vice-rector for International Cooperation and Education from National Aviation University, Ukraine
- Olha Demydenko – head of the Academic Mobility Office, Vice-Dean for Studies and International Affairs of the Faculty of Linguistics from National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Polytechnic Institute”, Ukraine
- Krystyna Shechkova – head of the Academic Mobility Programmes Department from Sumy State University, Ukraine
- Julia Galchynska – lecturer from National University of Life and Environmental Sciences, Ukraine.
As well as the university authorities and WSEiZ employees. Among them were: Institutional Erasmus+ Programme Coordinator – Vice-Rector Dr. Justyna Kłys, Prof. WSEiZ, Erasmus+ Program Coordinator – mgr inż. Karolina Urban-Mrozowska, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Management – dr inż. Ewelina Pałucka, Prof. WSEiZ, Vice-Dean for Quality and Development of the Faculty of Architecture – dr inż. Bogdan Gorczyca, Prof. WSEiZ, mgr Paulina Wąż – Deputy Head of the Architecture Faculty Service Team, mgr inż. Urszula Kąkol – academic teacher, mgr Ievgeniia Mashukova and mgr Małgorzata Mrukiewicz-Boryna – staff members of the Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Engineering and Management.
The event program included:
- presentations of WSEiZ and partner universities,
- a Polish language crash course,
- a discussion on cooperation with the socio-economic environment,
- a visit to the Museum of Soldiers and Political Prisoners of the Polish People’s Republic,
- a trip around Warsaw’s Old Town,
- a city game organized in the Old Town by 5th-semester students of the Management, specialisation: event, concert, and sports event organization
- workshop on soft skills conducted by dr inż. Ewelina Pałucka, Prof. WSEiZ, and mgr inż. Urszula Kąkol,
- presentations on the Erasmus+ Program projects implemented by WSEiZ.
These meetings were an excellent opportunity for discussion, exchange of experiences, and best practices among participants and partner universities. They also facilitated the establishment of bilateral cooperation between partners. Additionally, participants had the chance to learn about the history and culture of Poland and the countries of the event’s participants, as well as to taste Armenian, Azerbaijani, Brazilian, Dominican, Georgian, Kosovar, Ukrainian, and Polish delicacies during the International coffee break.
