From 29 November to 3 December 2021, Ms. Karolina Urban – the Erasmus+ Coordinator and Ms. Ievgenia Mashukova – an employee of the Dean’s Office of the Engineering and Management Faculty, took part in a training mobility within the Erasmus+ Programme at the Azerbaijan Technological University in Ganja (UTECA). It was another visit of the UEM employees within three-year collaboration with the partner university from Azerbaijan.
While in Ganja, the employees of UEM met UTECA’s Rector – prof. Shamil Akif Suleymanov, Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation – assoc. prof. Yashar Omarov, Head of the Academic office – Mr. Babak Hasanov, Head of the Equipment and Technical service, and staff of the International Cooperation Office: Ulviyya Mammadova, Ilaha Gurbanova, and Ismayil Hasanzade.
During the meetings, cooperation between both universities was summarised, and current issues and future plans were discussed. The meetings also contributed to expanding new professional contacts, strengthening relations among the staff of both partner universities, as well as getting to know and better understanding the cultures and customs of both countries.
During their visit to UTECA, the UEM staff also had a possibility to meet the teaching staff and present information about the University of Ecology and Management in Warsaw, see the laboratory where UTECA students produce local wines, and visit the most interesting places and monuments of Ganja on a tour with the staff of the International Cooperation Office. Among others, they visited the Mausoleum of the poet Nizami Ganjavi, the Heydar Aliyev park and the characteristic house made of bottles. Their stay in Azerbaijan also included a visit to Baku and sightseeing its impressive architecture.
