AI / No-Code Hackathon Took Place

From June 2nd to 5th, 2025, our university hosted the AI / No-Code Hackathon — a three-day marathon of creativity and innovation, during which UTA students had the opportunity to design modern solutions supporting academic life.

The event brought together interdisciplinary teams working on ideas based on artificial intelligence and no-code technologies, creating tools aimed at improving learning processes, communication, and university application systems.

The hackathon began with a joint kickoff session, where participants were introduced to project topics and formed their teams. The following days were filled with intensive work and consultations with mentor MSc. Eng. Piotr Brudny. The event culminated in a grand finale, during which teams presented their projects and the best solutions were awarded.

Below, we present the outcomes of the participants’ work — the projects developed during the AI / No-Code Hackathon.

1st place: UFAA Team

Authors: Feyza Balaban, Ümmü Bozdemir, Ahsen Nimet Elmas, Ayşe Selma Tufan

Project Description: Academiata University Assistant – a comprehensive smart platform where students, professors, and deans can share information and ask questions.

On a clear and user-friendly main screen, users can choose their role — student, professor, or dean — as well as the language (English, Turkish, or Polish). They also gain quick access to e-learning platforms and university announcements. Professors can easily publish updates and communicate with students. Deans manage the university through an advanced panel and can collect feedback and data from students via built-in surveys. Students benefit from a friendly interface offering a chatbot with motivational messages, access to schedules, useful links, and support for daily academic tasks.

Academiata fills a gap in university communication. It’s fast, multilingual, and role-adaptive — not just a chatbot but a bridge connecting the entire academic community.

Simple. Smart. Human.

3rd place: DJM Team

Authors: Mariia Bahlaieva, Jakub Obłękowski, Daria Stepanenko

Project Description: Nathan is an AI-powered assistant that helps you choose the study program that’s right for you. Using Holland’s RIASEC model, Nathan identifies your core personality type.

Our goal: To make self-discovery engaging, personalized, and actionable. “Nathan doesn’t just ask questions — he listens. Using Holland’s RIASEC model, he decodes your core personality type: Are you a problem-solver? A creative visionary? A natural leader? Then, Schein’s Career Anchors reveal your deepest values: Do you seek autonomy? Stability? Impact? Here’s the magic: every question adapts to your previous answer. It’s career psychology that feels like chatting with a wise friend.” We used n8n automation to build our AI agent. We chose Gemini 2.5 Turbo instead of other models because Google provides the fastest responses. We’ve already tested the bot for handling conversations across multiple devices simultaneously without any issues. n8n can be hosted for free on a local server. We hosted our template website using Lovable.
