Situation of our planet is clear – we must protect our environment against further degradation and create a place for living for future generation. The growth of expenses for environmental protection is not enough. There is also a need for professionals, such as WSEiZ graduates who will consciously care for the environment as part of their professional duties.
Graduation in second degree studies in Environmental Protection will enable you to realise advanced tasks in your profession regardless of the undertaking scale. Through your studies you will be able to:
More than 60% of the classes in Environmental Protection consist of auditory, laboratory, project and field exercises. This will enable you to learn about the practical aspects of the profession and activities related to the environmental protection.
In order to fully realise yourself in the responsible performance of tasks related to environmental protection, it is worth to complete and broaden your knowledge and skills. Second-cycle studies at UEM give you such an opportunity. Thanks to the competent and experienced lecturers – specialists in their fields, you will receive a complete and practical education. Polish Accreditation Committee (PAC) has positively assessed the quality of education at Environmental Protection as many as five times! According to PAC “the University of Ecology and Management in Warsaw plays an important role in the educational market”.
You should fulfil the following conditions in order to be admitted to the second degree studies in Environmental Protection:
have a degree certifying an engineering qualification in Environmental Protection or a related course, e.g. Environmental Engineering, Environmental Technology, Environmental Protection and Engineering
have a graduation diploma in the field of study corresponding to the scientific disciplines: environmental engineering, mining and power engineering or related scientific disciplines, in particular: chemical engineering, earth and environmental sciences and disciplines in the field of agricultural sciences, if the missing learning outcomes can be realised in the form of programme differences not exceeding 30 ECTS points. have a diploma of graduation in the field of study corresponding to related scientific disciplines, with a bachelor or master degree, if the missing learning outcomes (major and engineering) can be realised during the complementary semester and in the form of programme differences not exceeding 30 ECTS points. planning, designing, operating and evaluating systems for the integrated use and application of diverse renewable energy sources in conjunction with the ability to program modern solutions for waste management and the use of waste materials,
preparation, implementation and evaluation of sustainable development programmes for regions, districts and communes; implementation of normative environmental management systems in enterprises,
assessment of economic efficiency and obtaining sources of financing of undertakings in the field of environmental protection,
prognosis, identification, evaluation and elimination of environmental health hazards caused by physical, chemical, biological and psychosocial factors,
designing and implementing activities and programmes to prevent harmful effects of environmental factors and risk communication.
As a second degree graduate in Environmental Protection, you will be able to communicate on environmental issues with both professionals and non-specialists, as well as to organise and manage teamwork.
You declare your choice of specialisation in Environmental Protection while submitting the documents. The final decision on the choice of specialisation is made after the first semester of the second cycle studies.
