Why study at ATA

An opportunity to work in a dynamically developing industry

Design is a field that constantly evolves, and the demand for product designers continues to grow. Product designers play a key role in creating everyday objects that meet market and societal needs. For example, as a designer, you can develop new solutions that reduce plastic consumption.

Creating innovative products using modern technologies and materials

The specialization in Product Design offers the opportunity to work with innovative materials and advanced production technologies, enabling more creative and sustainable project development. Technologies such as 3D printing or composite materials allow for the creation of complex, lightweight, and durable products, as seen in the design of modern sports accessories.

An opportunity to work in various industries

A graduate specializing in Product Design has a wide range of career opportunities, from working in mass production companies to creating unique, custom-made products. Product design is present not only in the furniture or automotive industries but also in medical technologies.

The development of interdisciplinary skills

Students of this specialization learn not only how to design but also how to understand the social, economic, and technological aspects of the objects they create. This prepares them to make sustainable design decisions that consider changing societal needs. Designing everyday objects, such as furniture that addresses the needs of elderly people, is an example of this approach.

An opportunity to run an independent professional business

With the skills gained in design and project management, graduates have the opportunity to work on their own, creating their own design firms or working as freelancers. The ability to create unique projects tailored to the client’s special requests brings great satisfaction, as seen in the design of limited edition products.

What can you do after these studies?

Employment prospects

Working in companies designing consumer products

Working in design agencies and creative companies

You will have the opportunity to collaborate with manufacturing companies and industries that require creative solutions. By working with design agencies, you will also be involved in creating marketing campaigns, developing visual identities, and designing products for various industries, from fashion to automotive.

Creating your own design or design-production company

With the project management skills and market knowledge, you can start your own company that specializes in designing unique products or providing consulting services. For example, you could specialize in designing custom furniture that fits specific spaces, such as offices or apartments.

Working in companies focused on eco-friendly products and sustainable development

As a designer, you can specialize in creating environmentally friendly products that meet the growing demand for ecological solutions. You could design furniture made from recycled materials, create biodegradable packaging, or get involved in the development of products that help reduce waste.

Collaboration with the medical and technology industries

With your knowledge of design, you can collaborate with companies involved in the production of medical equipment, such as devices supporting rehabilitation. You will be able to design innovative tools, such as user-friendly blood pressure monitors, that are comfortable for elderly people to use.

The test consists of creating a still life study on B2-format paper using pencil (ranging from 2H to B6), graphite, or crayon. Candidates taking the test are asked to bring their own drawing tools. The university will provide the drawing board and paper.

The works will be evaluated by the admissions committee based on the candidate’s ability to observe and compose on a flat surface, as well as their sensitivity to space, light, and texture.

After receiving a positive qualification, candidates must submit the following documents to the Rector’s Office:

  • A completed and printed university application form from the online admissions system

  • A copy of the secondary school leaving certificate or its equivalent obtained outside the Republic of Poland, or another document qualifying the candidate for university admission
