UTA as a Partner in the International Zero Waste Build Project

The University of Technology and Arts (UTA) proudly announces its partnership in the Zero Waste Build project, funded by the European Union. The project is carried out by an international consortium comprising Estonia, Greece, and Poland, aiming to raise awareness and promote practices related to the reuse of construction waste.

Zero Waste Build is an innovative initiative focused on improving waste management in the construction sector by utilizing modern technologies such as artificial intelligence, BIM, robotics, and 3D printing. The program seeks to promote sustainable construction and train professionals in reducing, recycling, and reusing building materials.

Project Goals:

  • Increasing Awareness and Competencies: Training professionals and students in technical fields (architecture, civil engineering, environmental management) on construction waste management.
  • Sustainable Construction: Implementing modern technologies like BIM, AI, and robotics to reduce waste in the construction industry.
  • Professional Development and International Cooperation: Developing an e-learning platform and educational materials to facilitate knowledge sharing and networking among project participants.

UTA’s Role in the Project:

  • Creating and Updating E-Learning Modules: Covering topics from waste reduction to recycling and reuse in construction waste management.
  • Co-Creating the Best Practices Guide: Selecting and evaluating exemplary cases of sustainable construction.
  • Sector Research: Identifying training needs for graduates and professionals in the construction industry.
  • Promoting the Project: UTA will manage promotional activities for the project and its outcomes through social media, industry events, and collaboration with universities and organizations.
